TTS has operated over 30 rail-adjacent distribution centers (DCs) and remote DCs during the past 8 years. We know the pros and cons of various locations and the OEM requirements. We also know crane, train, truck and barge operations, and we understand how crucial on-time deliveries are. We’ve operated at many ports, at former intermodal facilities, at OEM facilities and at “green field” locations.
Our DC team puts its knowledge, experience, relationships and resources to work to save our customers time and money.
Our Distribution Center services include:
- Selecting – We help clients select DC sites by analyzing their needs, then using various mapping products plus aerial surveying to find the best location for their project.
- Planning – Once the location is selected, we create an entire plan — from site preparation to equipment selection, crew sizing and an operating plan — to ensure components are ready to go to site on-time (every time).
- Operating – Planning is important but means nothing without precise execution. We are up-to-date on all the OEMs’ lifting and storage requirements, and we have developed a comprehensive operations manual to ensure consistent performance at all of our sites.
- Improving – If a client has a site that just isn’t making the grade, we can find a different equipment or crew mix that might improve its performance. In several cases, we have been approved by the OEM to use TTS-developed alternative lift plans or equipment to reduce cost or improve productivity.
TTS crane crews have loaded and unloaded more wind components at rail locations than anyone in the industry. Our certified crane operators have experience with cranes from 35 ton to 350 ton capacity in handling thousands of containers, hubs, blades, tower sections and nacelles. We have the knowledge and experience to ensure safe, low-cost and damage-free handling of our clients’ components.
