Wind Component Rail Fixtures
Transportation Technology Services can provide universal fixturing for transporting both blades and towers by rail. All of these fixtures have patents pending and were designed by TTS.
The universal blade fixtures have been used on project moves for Suzlon blades as well as test moves for two additional blade manufacturers. The design of the fixturing allows for it to be repositioned on the car in order to accept different blade designs. Being able to re-use the fixtures helps reduce the cost for companies who are looking at shipping by rail for the first time.
TTS designed the universal tower saddle to help reduce costs for shipping towers on rail. Current saddle designs are fixed diameter units which are only useful for a specific size of tower. To add some versatility to our tower saddle, we designed in the ability to adapt to different tower diameters. This allows for multiple tower sections to be used with the same basic saddle — preventing obsolescence and lowering cost.
